Joyce Mallonee lived with breast cancer for twenty-five years - fourteen of those with Stage IV cancer that metastasized to her bones, liver, and lungs.
1995
Joyce, aged 44,
is first diagnosed
with Stage 1

1999 - 2001
At nearly the same time her breast cancer reoccurs, Joyce also develops arthritis in both of her hips.
Over the next few years she has both her hips replaced and undergoes a double mastectomy.
2006-2007
In late 2006, Joyce receives
a terrifying diagnosis: her
cancer has progressed to
Stage IV, metacized to her bones
and hollowed out a vertabrae in her neck.
She undergoes a regimen
of radiation therapy
and an unorthodox surgical procedure
to fill in her vertebrae.
2013-2016
After the scariness of The Stage IV diagnosis, Joyce and her doctors Are able to keep the Cancer at bay for a long Period of time. But Something about how You try something until It doesn’t work and then on the next treatment. It’s a race against the time And the disease. But this was a relatively Tranquil period of time.
2017
Joyce's cancer began
to progress more
rapidly. She developed a
secondary form of cancer
in uterus as a result of years
of treatment and
underwent a hysterectomy.
